Juice powered, omega-rich bread packed with anti-oxidants and without the sugar
We were surprised to find Dave’s Killer Organic PowerSeed bread situated among the traditional bleached flour, egg-ridden breads in our regular grocery store. The seed-encrusted “killer” bread looked healthy and since it contained juice instead of refined sugar we splurged a few dollars more than traditional bead to try it. Yum. This bread is great. We didn’t even realize at first that this bread also contains no meat products and is full of omega-3’s and antioxidants making it a nutrient rich alternative to traditional breads.
Dave’s Killer Bread tastes slightly richer than white bread and has a bit of crunch with all the seeds. The seeds and nuts on the individuals slices are much less dense than on the outer crust but still noticeable.
The only negative about this bread is that it doesn’t seem to stay fresh as long as regular white bread – likely because of the lack of preservatives. Since it tastes great, makes awesome toast and is healthier than traditional bread, it doesn’t last long in our cupboard anyway so we don’t mind.
We definitely recommend Dave’s Killer Organic PowerSeed bread. The in-store price is around $5.00 – $6.00 which isn’t bad for a healthy, apparently dairy-free alternative to white bread. This bread seems to be significantly more expensive on-line.
